I guess the are many people from the US who will join the meeting in France. There might be a chance for a great shipping deal ! Since Martin (our Venture mechanic ;D), owner of MG-Tec is the official German importer for Champion trailer, trikes, hard bags and sidecars, there might be a chance for the US Venturers to ship there bikes over to Europe for a very good price. I already ordered my trailer at MArtin, it will arrive on March 10. The trailer left from California within a container.to Bremerhaven. Total costs incl. paperwork, customer clearance and handling fees is only 490,- USD !!!!!!!!!!!!!! the railer has a simular cubic dimension to the Venture !!!!
So, if there are for example 4 guys with their bikes, they can rent a 20" foot container and the price will get reduced or you guys can rent a 40" container with the storage capacity of 8 Ventures !!!
What do you guys think. If there are prople who will have a serious interest, I will assist you in getting a very good freigt deal and of course I will help you with the custom clearance in Germany or another European place.
Pls. let us know. MAy be someone like Falko will post this on the US Venture site.

Forgot this. The 490,- USD was a price from the West Coast - one way. I am pretty sure, if you guys will start from for example Newark (East coast) you will get a very good deal for both ways if you will rent full container sizes !

John, just call me Rudy or Winghunter Sure, I can try to figure out something for our community. But, do you think there will be many people to join a ride within this year ? I mean it is not only a question of money, it is a question of left vacation days ! Many of us will join the meeting in France. 2005 would be a great year to work on a trip like that. But that is just my personal opinion.

No problem, John. for 2006 I guess we can plan a trip to the USA with our group. There might be people interested . I will open up a thread first, just to see how many people are interested in a trip to the USA. I would suggest a trip starting in Seattle and go South on HW 101 and HW 1 to San Diego with further stops in Las Vegas and the National Parks around like Grand Canyon, Monument Valley, Zion National Park, Bryce Canyon, Canyonlands and so on.
Let`s work on it !

You guys keep me informed of your plans! I live in Northern Colorado and there is a lot to see in a days ride from here! Denver International Airport is a good International destination too!

I'm doing another big US ride this summer. I will let you know my experiences when I get back.
During part of the ride I will make Alaska. Once I get there, I will have ridden in every State in the US except Hawaii, all on my Yamaha in the last 3 years.
The journey south from Alaska will take me down the whole of the Pacific Coast Highway as far as Los Angeles where I will head east to get back to Phoenix for my flight back to England.

And why not for euro venturer to make a US tour in 2006 or 2007 ;D HEY! That's such a great idea!!! Maybe I can work on that on THIS end. The US is a LARGE place. Canada is also beautiful in the summer. (Some there even speak broken French! haha) Perhaps we could plan "two" rides of two weeks each. On in the Eastern US. & One in the Western US. One in 2006, the other in 2007? Bike rentals should not be a problem. The Euro is still quite strong in the US & even stronger in Canada. Pyro Venturers.org North American Events Director.
