Hi friends, Doc`s impressionable story about his first ride with the Venture reminded me on a story that I have seen in an old Goldwing brochure from the GWRRA. They describe how to upright a fallen a GW when you are solo on the roads. Since the weight of the bikes is quite simular, it might be a helpfull description.

Yes, they are expensive...maybe Ebay is a source for some of that stuff. I know its hard to come by for the 1st Gen...but sure might check them out once in a while...if you haven't already.

If you drop your ride in an exciting fashion shouldn't your adrenalin level be high enough for you to just pick it up? I know that the time I dropped mine, as soon as I checked to be sure my wife was okay I picked my RSV up with little trouble, and I didn't have to engage reverse!!!!!!

You're right Moose one time I've dropped mine at stop and I was so angry that I've picked it with no difficulty

NOW he tells me ;D ;D ;D
I dropped mine to the right, so it would be a bit difficult getting the side stand down from there. I guess you'd just keep pushing till it went over on to it.
Adrenalin is a funny thing. I picked my old cg 250 up with no problem either when I dropped it. Yeah I know its not heavy for a fit 19 year old, but I had broken my leg when I did drop it.
OK I should be back in circulation now, the Flu I bought back with me from the UK is abating and I am actually starting to focus some.

it was more a bit of a riddle;
when the bike falls to the right the first thing you do before you pick it up is put out the jiffy
