a few years ago on a rather long trip back from the south of France we ran very low on petrol on the motorway from Dijon and being very late at night there were no petrol stations open except on the motorways . The fuel warning light had been on for about 10 miles or about 16 kilometers . I was starting to get worried so we decided to empty a bottle of vodka into the tank and mixed it with what petrol was left in the tank. To my surprise it ran, not very well but ran. It managed to get us to the motorway services where we filled up with petrol. I now have a alcoholic venture.
