Up front footpegs for long legs?

--------------------------------------------------------------------------------
Hi:
Here's a question for all of you. I'm 6'2" with long legs. The pegs I had mounted to the front crash bars (Yamaha clamp on) don't really allow me to stretch out my legs much and my knees ride just below the handlebars, which makes it difficult to steer on less than straight roads. I need something that mounts down lower and further front. Any suggestions? Any place I could start looking? Or will I have to custom make something?
It's an '83 Venture Standard.
Thanks for any help.
Jon

Jon,
I'm not as tall, but last year while racking up my 11,000 miles for the summer, I found it to be very comfortable to rest the back of my legs on my footpegs. My legs aren't as long as yours and I always wore tall boots, but you might find this to be a comfortable alternative until you can figure something out.

There are all kinds of choices out there.
Anywhere from $20.00 to $200.00 Just depends on what you like.
Rivco has a few choices for 1" bars and they have good products at good prices.

Jon,
I'm 6'3" but have a 32" inseam (relatively short). However, I have found the Kuryakyn ISO Dually Pegs with offset mounts worked quite well on Rushin' Blue (93 VR). I mounted them on the front downtube of the case guard and had the offsets pointed forward, which put the pegs forward and low, yet didn't drag in the corners (I'm not an aggressive rider).
Get 'em from RickH (Buckeye Performance) if you get anything....
