Hi just to let you know... 2 days ago a neighbor ringed my door bell and asked me to come down to the parking lot his wife had tryed to get out that place and hit my bike which felled over..... the bike was parked not on the central stand but hit on the left side so hard that it felld over tpo the right side on which it was laying when i arrived luckily not on the ground / asphalt - cause it was parked on the side of the parking lot - and felled over onto the lawn which is about 15 cm higher then the asphalt... i was so angry that without thinking i just grapped the handles on the right side and pushed up the bike alone - back onto the parking rest ( uuups didnt that take normally 2 persons - or a good planning how to lift the bike ? ) after first look it wasnt that bad... after second look it was bad ;-)) after third look still bad damage : on the left side: flasher broken off, position lights in the rail broke off, trunk case cracked, some scratches ... on the right side : mirror cracked, some deep scratches below the mirror ... not that bad .... if you imagine how hard the car must have hit the bike today i will get the estimate of cost .. and i know allready that my neighbours wife wont have a nice weekend ;D i will keep you informed about totall costs and how we will work this out... BTW .: i will make it to Isny....

Sorry to hear about that accident, Falko. Was she blond? ? I hope you neigbour pays all the damages and the lady is fixed soon and ready for the good weather to ride, ride, ride ride....... Hasta la vista, Nacho. P.S.: Think about taking pictures before and after the fixing and also during all the process to post it on the Tech boards (how to change fairings, replace mirrors, etc. Easy and simple, but worth it to make the Tech section bigger).

yeah thats 2 cents of worth...
a insurance company will complain this a totall loss because of the age our bikes are nothing worth..
the neighbour asked i f we can do this without police , and he wants to pay without using his insurance from the car...
i dont think he had an idea about the costs - but i phoned him and asked him to pickup the prices and pay for the dealer...
we will talk tomorrow , or after the meeting
and i need an idea what i shall say - and how much % of the dealer price i shall ask for...
btw .: thx nacho for your kind words about the accident... and the idea to take enough pics... i will do so..

Bit of bad luck Falko, but the insurance would cover the damage, after all these people are in the wrong they did hit you'r bike.If they want to settle in cash i would ask for 100% and then settle for a fair deal, may be 75%of total cost.

No matter how they do it, your bike should be put back in the condition it was before she hit it! I understand that the broken parts were not new, but they were not mended either. You had a nice looking bike when we rode with you in 2004 and you should still have a nice looking bike, it is not your fault your neighbor wasn't riding a motorcycle, she surely would have seen your bike if she was!!!

Sorry to hear about this,I certainly would be mad, maybe up for murder by now, joking aside,Thankfully you were not on it,regarding the insurance,I think that they would right it off as it is not a vintage but just old,it is possible to make a deal with the insurance company, they will pay you ,for example,3000euro & sell the bike back to you for a few hundred euro,on the other hand,(this could be worth thinking about) over here anyway, she could refuse to involve the insurance as the parking lot is private,it would have to be taken to a civil court if it got that far out of hand, you will have to be pleasant with her(Idon't mean take her out for a drink & give her one ;D ;D) I hope everything works out ok for you.
