I'm sure some of you have seen on the news that there is another storm heading for the Texas coast today through Saturday....heading towards Galveston, which is an island away from the coast and will most likely be totally destroyed.....along with much of that coastal area......they are saying now, that this may get bigger than Katrina, which could make it the largest and most devastating storm EVER to hit the US.........if you have any friends who live in this area, call them and be sure they are gone!!!!! ....and hope & pray that all the people get away from this one this time..........without the loss of life. Danke, thanks, mercie....

It is terrible !
Friends of us won`t move away. They will stay ! Absolutely crazy.
They live in Needville. that area is forecasted where the storm hits first ! They have a small farm with horses, cows and so on .
Firends in the US, can you pls. keep me informed whats going on in that area. I do not have the possibility to get such kind of detailed information.
So, I really need your help in getting informations.

You might want to go the the MTA site...a lot of them are from Texas and the chances of getting one who may be near that area or close, might be able to keep you up to speed better than the news. www.mtariders.com/cgi-bin/forum/discus.cgi

Settle down....Mr Bush has nothing to do with the local evacuation effort...that is all handled by the local city, and state authorities......from what I am hearing ...the storm is moving a little east of Galvaston and Houston....not much help, but a little for those folks..... the local authorities are offering buses and other transportation for those who ask for it!!! But, if they can't ask or don't want the help there isn't anything anyone can do.....unless you are there..and you are not...she surely has someone nearby that can give her a lift to one of the many shelters that have? ? What town does she live in/near? Maybe we can get to the MTA site and find someone near there to go check it out? ? There is still time to do something...can she call a friend?

In the United States I grew up in we were taught to take care of our selves without the government! I have survived 3 tornado's and more blizzards and ice storms than I can count without government help. If you cannot depend on yourself, on whom can you depend? Give me a loaded weapon, some water, and a little time, and as the old country song says "Country boys can survive!"

I saw the 100 mile traffic jams on the freeway north of Huston Texas tosay on the early morning news. Absolutly jammed packed, at least they are away from the coast . Lets all prey that no one looses there life in this one unlike the last one to hit New Orleans.

Hi friends, just wonna say Thank you for the great help, that John started to get in contact with my friend. I mean it is not comment, that people who don`t know each other help you out in such a great way, like the "unknown" Texan rider did it. Just let me show you the last email, that I`ve got this morning : _________________________________________________ John, Tell Rudy that Mary said she was ok...if she had to she could ride her horses out. I did make a commitment to call her afterwards and let you guys know if she made it. We are leaving for our daughters in a few minutes...pray for folks stranded as the nightmare starts today. The tempers on the roads were bad from what I saw when we were out yesterday and last night. As Rita gets nearer the sense of helplessness in these folks will rise to a new level and survival instincts and desperation sets in. _______________________________________________ Hooe may friend will make it without any damage for her and for her home. Family and me decided, if there is something to do in reconstruction of eventually damages, we will go over and help as much as we can. John, thanks again !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
