I just found a couple of free hours between diapers and baby's bottles and went to participate in an event to claim for bikers rights. It was a great event celebrated in the whole country at the same hour this past Saturday. All big cities of Spain made a bike's meeting stopping all the trafic of the main streest of each city and making a lot of noise to claim for our rights (driving in first gear and installing chaos in all the cities). Those rights are the rights to ride safely and for that, we asked our goverment to take out those killing guardrails, the sleepering horizontal signs (painted signs) and so many other items that we always find in our way when we have a crash. All those items are in the roads to stop cars from getting away from the road and stop the impacts, but when bikers hit those items, we simply get killed, broken members and other horrible things. Madrid and Barcelolona got close to 5000 bikes each one. Sevilla and Bilbao got 2000 bikes and my city, Valladolid, got more than 1500 bikes in a freezing foggy morning with temperatures below 0º Celsius. Now, can you guess who was riding in front of the line with a big bike announcing with stroboscopic lights to pedestrians that we were comming? Yeah!!! It was me. Just wanted to share this with you. Here are a few pics. Best regards to all, Nacho.

nice these winter meetings. Not doable here because of the salt on the roads; don't they use it in Spain?

Salt??? For the roads???
Nope!!! We use salt mostly for salads and other meals, but we do not put salt on the road. You guys are crazy!!! What is next? Maybe some peanut butter spreaded all over the roads???
Just kidding, of course.
Best regards to all from sunny Spain,
Nacho.
