Hi friends. I'm just copying a message that I put in the American forum to see if can find it here in Europe: ****************************** Hi there friends. I've been quiet a little bit during last weeks due to some trips that I have been doing, but here I am again. This time I need a little bit of help. A very good friend of mine has a 99 Venture like mine and needs to find the part I put into a red circle in the next drawing: It is not difficult to find it here in Spain, but all dealers say we have to buy the complete drive shaft wich costs a lot of bucks. So what we need is to know if the part is available by itself in any dealer in USA to buy it there. A second posibility is to get the American price for the complete drive shaft as we know for sure it will be a lot cheaper than in any European country. Finally,if all this is not possible, maybe we could find somebody who made a trike conversion who may have these parts kept in his garage. Maybe a bike damaged in an big accident and being saled by parts could be another solution. Anyway, if any of you guys could help my friend to get his Venture back to the road, it would be very appreciatted. Best regards to all from Spain, Nacho. ****************************** Also, I'm gonna need this winter a set of front rotors (brake disks) for my Venture. Anybody has any suggestion about where to find them cheap? Rudy, what about buying them where you buyed the ones for the White Wolf? Where they original Yamaha? Can I use any other trade? Any help will be very appreciated. Best regards to all from Spain, Nacho. Bunnie: hekp->help

Hi Nacho, if your guy need this part, I have one, if he want it. Last winter I changed the complete part (final gear assy), you can buy it only as an assy and it had cost 900 euro ( snif !!!) . The only parts you can buy apart are the shims, able to gear lash adjustement. Just one thing, the part I have is undamaged, able to many many km in case of correct refit. So let me know...

Nacho, that item was a part from the suspension renewing. It came from "Emil Schwarz". All the parts from "Emil Schwarz" are fitted to the bike where it is used for.
Any further question, just let me know.

Any further question, just let me know. Hey Rudy, what came from Emil Schwarz ? The Final Drive ? The Brake Discs ? Or ? and .. I forget to say .. was in a Hurry .. Nacho ... I think you shouldn't look out for those Spareparts alone. You have to change both Flywheels because of the Highly precise Manufacturers Level of those Parts, i've hard about costs of 470 Euros for the Set, plus several other Pieces ... no good choice

Thanks a lot guys, for your help.
My friend finally decided to buy the complete drive shaft new. We have got a great price deal with one of the American club members. He offered us to send it to Spain for about 590 US Dollar wich are more less 500 Euros. I still can't believe that Spanish dealers ask close to 1.500 Euros for the same thing.
We are not very sure why this happened to his bike. It is only 30.000 km old and we think that the previoust owner did not treat the bike gently. That's why my friend wants to change the complete kit to make sure everything works properly again.
Anyway. I also got a very good chance to buy my new rotors in the same place (my friend will pay for the shipping ;D ;D ;D ).
So Rudy, could you please ask at Emil's for price for a new set of front rotors for a 99 Royal Star Venture?
If he can offer a good price, I will order from him instead from the States.
Thanks in advance to everybody for your help and best regards from Spain.
Nacho.
P.S.: Guys, don't throw away those parts. My friend decided to buy it new, but if the same thing happened to me or to any other member from my club, we could have probably tried with second hand parts. We never know. Those parts may have some vlaue in the future.

Nacho: I would bet the damage happened because of the failure of the bearing that is identified as #13. That bearing failed on my 99 at about 28000 miles, fortunately, it was still under warranty and I heard the noise difference before anything else was damaged! It is good to pay attention to the noise your ride produces!!

Thanks, Greg.
We are ordering the complete set from Rick. My friend does not want to take ant risk. I think he does well.
We are only waiting for Rudy to give price for the rotors to see if I order everything from Rick or just my friend's parts.
Come on, Rudy. You are getting lazy lately. Is it becuase of the Goldwing thing? Just kidding, of course.
Best regards,
Nacho.

Rudy is a little bit busy right now. But I'm sure you will get the right answer if he is able to do.

Sorry to say Nacho, but, there are no Brake Discs from Emil Schwarz ... this Man produces a lot of Special-Bearings, Foot-pegs for Vmax's and some other Stuff, NO Brake-related Items. you can find him here: www.emilschwarz.deIf you just want to replace your worn Discs, i can give you an Address where you can have Parts from Lucas with a Discount ... as long as they have it in Production ... If you want to improve your Brakes, get some R1-Brake Calipers. I don't know for sure if they will fit on the RSV, but i think so, probably you will need an other Brake-Pump with 14mm ... then ... yeah ... steelbraided Brake lines a Standard i think. and if your Wallet is not empty yet .... ... get Spiegler Brakediscs instead of OEM-Parts and Pads ... that's will give you a really good Brakes ... NOT cheap, but very worthy ... GREAT !!!

Thanks a lot for the info, Squeeze.
My friend needed his parts urgently and I had to make his order form the States last friday. My rotors were not that urgent, but knowing that my friend was going to pay for the shipping, I ordered a set of OEM rotors.
I already have improved the braking of my Venture. I did it like 4 years ago when I installed steelbraieded brake lines for the front and rear brakes.
Putting the R-1 calipers was another option that some people have done, specially in the States, but right now I don't want to invest more money in brakes. I'm happy the way they are right now and I don't need more braking power. Maybe more power horses, but that's another story.
Anyway, thanks for the info.
Best regards form Spain,
Nacho.

Sorry guys for my late answer. guess my brain was somewhere around, as I made the posting regarding the rotor.
Squeeze is right, of course. Emil Schwarz is the producer for the bearings.
I got the front rotor from "France Equipment" and I got those from MG-Tec.
If you need any further assistance, Nacho, just let me know.
But I think, the best way is to contact Martin or France Equipment directly.
