You can get a shorter windshield from your dealer (original Yamaha) but very pricey. Otherwise order from US (aftermarket like JC whitney) and it should be cheaper incl. tax and shipping. Next possibility is to cut the windshield down with a jigsaw or dremel multi and sand the edges. This is the best because you can cut it down just to the height you prefer.
If You want to cut it down, take a sheet of paper which is large enough to cover the windshield. Draw a line up to the half of the windshield. Then foald in the middle and draw the other half on the line from the first half. So you get the right form on both side. Tape the cut line on the windshield to prevent scratches from the jigsaw or Dremel and then go on.
Good luck. Roland

I agree with Roland about cutting it down yourself,at the moment there is a member in the US talking about cutting the wind shield down to 36cm.

I had cut down the shield on my first RSV. It was very hard to find the right height. The condition for me was to have as high as possible while still being able to look over it during rain. I had it shortened three times. Then I stopped because it did not get any better. When shortened there was a lot of turbulence. after the 2nd cut this was less, but after the 3rd it was the same and left it. On my present RSV I now have a standard low screen after making a switch with someone who wanted a high screen. This standard low screen is really to low also. Now I'm a bit looking for a variable homemade windscreen using used parts from FJR, BMW or GW. Whenever I come to this I'll let you know of course.
If someone has tips to get rid f the turbulence please give them. Maybe by making air-vents like a pan-european screen.
