What do you mean Falko....a sensor to tell if the battery is not charging??? If it is that, no it doesn't.

They are many things missing on the RSV and that's why I still ride my XVZ. Computer, air monitored front suspension, radio level sensor, comfort (my wife's opinion), and maybe a little other points. Don't be hungry Nacho, you have a nice bike, perhaps a little bit to much in the Harley direction for me, but a nice machine.

I have a monitor mounted to have a look at the voltage because the additional lights take much load. The best of the RSV is that You can install much things without to drill holes in some plastic parts. I like to get easy access to much parts without too much time is needed. Front and back wheel in 20 minutes. My neighbour with his 1500 GoldWing took last time 6 hours for this work because he had to take many plastic parts apart and some screws were corroded.

Actually I think that you are right in some points. I wish I could have an old Venture also. I've been searching in Holland, where I've got very good friends but it seems that the market is asking too much for a 14 years old bike. Nothing personal against those old ladys, but they should be cheaper (they are second hand, with lots of kms and very old). I agree with you that the new Venture has lost some very useful things that the old Ventures used to have. But it also has some good points that make them a great machine, better than the old ones for certain things. I don't think it is a matter of which one is better or worse. They are simply different bikes and each one has been designed for different purposes. I feel really happy with my 99 Venture. She has already 108.000 km on the ODO and still running as the first day. It is the prettiest one in Spain and also the fastest one (believe me). Anyway. Glad to see this forum is finally working. I can see a lot of traffic. Best regards to all, Nacho.

I agree with Nacho about why I have an RSV! I do like to know the condition of the charging system though, so I have added a Show Chrome (the company who sells it) combination clock/voltmeter/thermometer to my bike. It comes with some velcro backed sticky tape that mounts right on top of the handlebar mounts and I wired it inside the fairing. I ran the sensor for the thermometer to the lower triple tree so it would always be sensing fresh air. I bought one for JohnJr, but he hasn't been able to pick it up yet. I will try to post a picture of mine later, after I take it.

Thanks Yamamoose.
I'm very interested in those pics, as I always wanted to add one of those to my Venture.
Please feel free to post them here or send them to me if you want. I will appreciate it very much.
Regards form Spain,
Nacho.
