Just how protected are you, when you ride.
1. None, Glasses, full face shield?
2. Normal clothing, leather vest/jacket, armored jacket?
3. Jeans, chapps, leather pants, armored pants?
4. sneekers, riding boots?

Hi Tom , it's depend on the season. For me, spring and summer: leather clothes, armored pants with jet helmet and glasses. In automn and winter, the same pants+special underwear, all-seasons vest ( like gore-tex ) with integral helmet. Here, the winter is arrived ( it's snowing !) Best regards from France !

Generaly I'm all in leather but enough of my sex life. Protection wise I'm pretty lax (sorry I am trying to get off the subject of my sex life). Open face lid, chaps, leather vest and a jacket if it gets cold. The best protection is the grey matter between my ears.

I wear glasses so I always have them on. When riding the Venture, I wear a Shoei 3/4 helmet, Joe Rocket Phoenix jacket, Olympia gel pad gloves, heavy blue jeans and Air Force hot weather boots. I also have the Phoenix pants that I wear a lot.
When I'm out on the Kawasaki, I wear the same gear except I substitute a full face helmet for the 3/4 lid. The sportbike windshield just doesn't cut it for me on Stinger.
Cooler weather means heavier duds on under the jacket to help cut the colder temps. I'm currently looking for a good set of cold weather gear for winter riding. I bought the Kawi to use as my primary transportation to and from work. As long as there's no ice on the roads, I'll ride.
Any suggestions for cold weather gear, guys. I know some of you live in much cooler climates than me. I have a great pair of gloves that are plenty warm enough and are waterproof, I just need the body gear, preferably with armor.

Helmet Arai 3/4 with tinted visor and always glasses and if it is very cold Shoei integral helmet.
Always gloves and boots, summer and winter versions.
BMW ( they make lousy bikes but great clothing!) City jacket for all seasons with ventilation openings and protection on ellbows, shoulders and back.
Always leather pants and in winter insulating underwear.
Carry also with me a rainsuit, one piece, and rain gloves not only good for wet wetter conditions but also perfect in the winter, they keep you absolutely free from the cold wind!
Ride carefully,
Peer.

During my trip in the South of France,I wore trainers, shorts,Venturer T-Shirt,leather vest, sunglasses, open face helmet & a cig in my mouth, what a comfortable ride, stupid though, but what the hell, use the grey cells as Doc says,I think it all depends on the situation your in,for example, your family, kids,I can understand that wearing protective gear will give you a better chance of survival,on an ordinary ride,I wear boots, leather jeans, vest & open face helmet so I can smoke when I am riding.

And mine is just great for Petra ;D ;D ;D ;D
Let`s get back top the topic ;D
During long rides I prefer protective leather gear. for short trips in summer - doesn`t matter. If I travel in the US - I do not wear a helmet and do not wear protective gear. Just enjoy the freedon - because it is my head and body !
