I'm attending also the International Meeting in France next year.
And I hope to bring a lot of Spanish friends with me, as I did last year in the Swiss Meeting.
Can we arrange something for those days apart from the official program? What do you think, folks?
Let's see if can make a great event.
Let us know your ideas.
Best regards to all.
Nacho.

- For sure, we should do something in this way. I think the area where the meeting will be, should be great for together activities. Normally, we deceided to go furthermore to Spain and would spend our vacations there. Anyway, we have an open ear for added activities - but that should be somewhere at a beach ;D

Yes Nacho, you are right. May be, Falko will join us for a ride to Spain as well.
May parents live there since 12 years, close to Allicante. But during the summertime they escape due to the hot wheather conditions down there.
Our plans are to go the coast down to that area.

That's perfect.
I even have members of the Spanish Venture Club in Alicante.
I'm sure we can arrange something.
By the way, don't forget that we are already talking about attending our Easter Meeting in Palma de Mallorca.
I bet you guys would love to come.

Sorry guys, but I'm not sure..... We are just looking for our summer hollidays and to find a good date for all of us (Carine, my wife, Manon, Nicolas and Baptiste, my childrens) it could be possible that we fly away during this period. Anyway, I'm sure that we will find time to meet us this year, independently from this meeting.

Noel, I am pretty sure - if they do not offer a tent site - there are some close by - or as minimum there must be open space around the meeting. We also will carry our tent with us.

Thanks Caladois for that info,I will need a hardtop,as my health would not allow me to sleep in a tent, although I would love to get back to sleeping in tents & having the crack. I have been working out my route on how to get there,I will have to ride 60miles to the Cork ferry in Ireland, the ferry takes about 12hours to Roscoff & then it's 675miles to Le Chatelard via Paris. Not sure whether I could do that long trip,a few years ago ,I would'nt think twice about going, just jump on my bike & off.Maybe I can stretch the trip out & make it a 7 day trip, enjoying all the scenery & hospitality of all the local people,I'll wait to closer the time & see how fit I am,it would be a great shame to miss it,also I would like to travel through europe visiting Germany,Spain,Belguim & the Netherlands again,so much freedom out there on a bike, today,we are heading out around Ireland for 3 days,we are getting plenty of sunshine for the next 3 days, temperature is 6c,must take advantage of the weather.

You need to get in touch with him if you haven't already!!!! Don't be bashful about asking for help getting down here for a trip or two...we all would be glad to help ya out...have a good 2-3 days while the weather is good!!!!

Johnjr,I'm in a hotel in Killarney,Co.Kerry, using their internet section, great sunshine for the last 2 days,we followed the coastline along Co.Cork & into Killarney, alot of winding roads & a few potholes, but it was great.I did try to contact "Brassmonkey"one time,I had trouble with emails at that time.I'm sure we will be in contact sometime. Thanks Caladois for your help,if I need your help,I will certainly contact you.I have nearly talked 2 biker friends to come along to the International 2005.

Unfortunately, I will not be able to make it as I will be riding in the US in the summer. I got to the meeting in Sweden but missed the Swiss meeting as I had already planned a European trip and the dates didn't quite match up even though I got to Switzerland.
I expect my travel this year will be more limited to compensate for the fact that I went so many places last year.

I agree with you guys. First view is quite expensieve. Second view : If you seperate the total and split it into overnights , lunch and dinners, it comes up to a reasonable price.

We are planning to take part in the meeting and we will stay in a tent. We will ride on thursday and back after the Sunday lunch. It's roundabout 570 km from my home (Mannheim) and I think it's ok to ride through Switzerland (Vignette) to make the trip short. Hope I can stay the way because my health and strength isn't on top. If someone from Germany will take part on this trip to Le Chatelet feel free to contact me. Possibly Johnjr will ride with us but I haven't talked to him yet.
See You soon Ruth and Roland

Sorry, but I have now the definitiv answer. I will not be at the meeting. have to take care on children hollydays and the only week I found a fly and a good hotel for five persons was from 12 to 19 july. For the price, it's a normal one. not more than in Switzerland last year. But as you write, if the meal is good, all is good and it is not ever the case. I can rememeber last year when we had a week-end in alsace with the french venture club, instead of the naked (pretty) girl dancing on the table, I had prefered a good steak and a big beer.... But the WE was good organized. For the interrested guy's you can find the picture here: www.ventureclubdefrance.com/photos/galerie.php?rep=alsace(on page 6 picture 50, the one in the front with the white tee-shirt , it me...and one of my soon behind the bike just putting the grey helmet....)

Yep Bunnie, I forgot your a more people than we are. I just calculated for Petra and myself. That gives a total different view !
Guess we need an explanation from the French side.
May be there will be a discount for members of the "European Venturer ? Just an idea !

If it's organized like in Sweden then they have a catering service over there. Then the meals are really good and not sandwiches in plastic bags. Catering service is the only posibillity if You don't make all members of the french club working on the meeting. There is always a lot to do remaining for the tours and others. In Sweden it was really good organized, also in Switzerland I was told. Then You are quick on a price of 75,- € per Person. I think they don't want to tell everything before what they have organized.

I have emailed Caladois in a effort to obtain info on places to stay, and haven't heard back yet.
I believe the price is Ok for 3 days and 2-3 meals a day....the other cost are camping fees(if any) or hotel/pension fees if you will go that route.
So hope Caladois see's the email and thread to help answer these questions..

@ blackscorpion:
I have no problem to ride with a v-max. May be You have a problem with my way to ride. The Venture is a touring machine. O.k. faster as most of them but always a touring machine and with all the luggage like on the way to Sweden it's a little bit like truck driving. ;D
There are a lot of faster drivers but they have to make greater breaks because of their necks and butts, so I am fast enough for them. ;D ;D
