I know it is very early to work on a trip like that. But if we will do something like that, we need to work early on it - hotel and campground reservations. Work on daily trips, figure out highlights along the route and so on and so on.

Any further developments on this? I'm going to the Venturers ride-in at Spearfish, 1st week in July. Bikes are available for hire in the Denver area which has an international airport. Besides the Black Hills area around Spearfish (about 500k north of Denver) there are some dfantastic sites to see in The Rockies, which is of course Yamamoose's stomping ground. A nice trip based on places I have ridden would be around 2,200 miles, 3,500kms. That would take in some time at theVenture meet in Spearfish, a fantastic ride from Mount Rushmore, through the National parks into Wyoming, up into Montanna via Beartooth canyon, back into Wyoming and the Chief Joseph highway, a complete loop of both Yellowstone and Grand Teton National parks then down through Wyoming into Colorado and the rockies, through Dinosaur National Park and down through Ouray to Durango before heading east again and then north back to Denver. It would be a comfortable two week trip, allowing 2 days for flying and 12 days for riding and siteseeing. I did the riding element in 4 days so 12 days would be a very leisurely pace. Motels and hotels (and campgrounds) are relatively easy to find along the way. If you could only do a week long trip, I could easily work out a shorter route, or you could just up the daily ride time!!
