Class System
The repair of the class system on Venture Royale when it is showing an error message of E-1 or E-4, By Steve Preston
The repair is really quite simple if one can use a phillips screwdriver, small crescent wrench & a soldiering iron. Here goes:
1. Make sure the key is in the off position. We don't want to replace any fuses do we?
2. Open the coolant addition to expose the backside of the air suspension controls.
3. There will be a white 9 pin conductor, unplug it.
4. There will be a red and a black wire, for the illumination. Disconnect both of them.
5. On the backside of the controls are 4 nuts. Remove them.
6. Close the coolant addition cover and pull the suspension controller out.
7. On the backside of the controller are 2 ea. phillips screws and a brass clip. Remove these.
8. GENTLY remove the black back cover from the controller housing.
9. There will be a circuit board held with 4 ea. phillips screws.
10. Unplug the white 9 conductor plug from the circuit board.
11. Remove the 4 ea. phillips screws the hold the circuit board.
12. NOW on the backside of this circuit board where the LARGE male plug connects are soldier joints that develop what is called "cold soldier", meaning that the soldier didn't adhere well and stress on the plug works them loose. Simply re-soldier the 9 ea. pins CAREFULLY, NOT TOO MUCH HEAT, and your back in business.
13. Put it all back together. Use a little lock tight on the four nuts that
hold the controller to the coolant addition cover to keep them from working
loose.
