In Norway we have going a discussion about tires for MC. What 's the opinion of that question among VCE members, and what is the price for tires in Europe ?

I don't know what tyres a VR 1300 DE uses. The recent front for my XVZ1300 was 130 euro and a bugger to track one down (3 days).
The best general advice I ever had was that it doesn't matter how you mix the makes as long as you dont have a tyre with the weaker grip fitted to the front. This causes the front tyre to skip in the wet as it is outperformed by the rear pushing it too hard. Yes the rear has a bigger footprint and more grip in the dry, but if you look at matched tyres you'll notice the front is better at clearing water (closer tread pattern) so works better steering in the wet then the tyre laying down the power. Put a Hard compound Dunlop on the front and a soft compound Avon on the back and the bike will be trying to push you off the road on wet bends.
