Hey guys I have lost my headlight and lights for the instruments on my bike. Can anyone give me some tips to how I find the reason. I have the green light for neutral, the red light goes on and the computer is working.

thats easy now if only one part - headlamp or instrument cluster lamps where involved it could be everything but those seperate things both out of function : it is a cable connection prob ! take a tester connect battery one side - start testing at headlight powercable / and next time the ground cable , see and find where the connetion is lost thats all all ? thats a lot of cables... i know for sure it could be easier just to take a new cable for those lamps but then your comp. monitor will not tell you if headlight is on or out therefore you better go the hard and long way to check the original cables and reinstall with a new cable only th e broken part... just my 2 cents

hi, maybe this will help you to fix your prob. 1. Check a wiring diagram, for knowing where the cables going and where are conecting points. Or you know it. 2. take a voltage/amperemeter, switch on direct current voltage (=20V), and measure (black strip on ground, red strip measure points) backward (from death bulb to battery) all connections. in this way you will find fast the point where the power ends. The next step is, switch the V/A-meter to peep and check the cable from the power ends in direction death bulb, if the cable is broken or is it a bad connection. Also maybe some connection are oxidized ( or have corrosion ) then take a mso2 spray to make connection. Cleaning the conection point with sandpaper will also help, and then put a battery anti-corrosion-fat around the blank metal.
greetings from linz/austria fred

Hi , thank's for good ideas . The prob. was the startswitch. A little "dash" with electrospray, and the light was back. Here in Norway we have somthing called "tool on box" (556.)That's oiled the switch and kill the corrosion.

Sounds like I could do with a can (?) of your "tool on box" Viking. My cruise control pretty much has a mind of it's own when deciding to let me engage cruise or not, I suspect a good squirt of your "tool on box" in the handlebar switch would sort that out for me.

Hi Doc, for electonik parts is the best you spray only electronik spray which is used in repair-shop of television, because the make only conection and have not oil inside, that oil make your electronik parts dirty and whit the time the wont work any longer. Ask in e TV- or Radio-repair shop for this spray, i use this for my mixing konsole as well for the bike parts they need contact.
Greetings from Linz Fred

Its my plesure to help, dont forget, TV-electronic-spray is for electronic parts, if you have problems with the ignition plugs, so you have to use spray with oil, becouse the most problems with them are water and the spray with oil will ousts the wather from them and they make good ignition. (the electronic spray is like alkohol, after he make contact, he will fade away)
