Soon I will be starting on the winter work on my vent. Since I’ve hardly put on any miles since I last serviced and gave her a minor overhaul there’s not a lot to do, but I am planning to hit up the lights and paint.
I have 100 mini surface mount green LED’s coming from eBay that cost me 4 pence each, and a bunch these are going inside the rims of the trunks and the boot lid to provide some working light.
The next plan is to attack the paint and add some lights.
I’m thinking a light and paint effect in combination, and to this end I intend to use fibre optics embedded in the plastic. I’ve got a shop size kit of plastic repair coming. I used this with great success in repairing the plastic tabs and cracks on my bike, so I intend to experiment with the clear and coloured kit to get different effects.
Like all these plans it’s dependent on what life throws at me, so I’m just getting the bits together to do the job right now.
BTW Lee who sells these kits is doing a deal on them a the moments, so if you do want something that is top gear for plastic repair you can contact him by e-mail at lee.mulliss@ntlworld.com to enquire. Tell him Doc sent you.
So does anyone know where I can pick up some fibre optic cable cheap?
