Dear all friends.
It's my pleassure to introduce to all of you the final information about dates and locations of the 2008 International Venture Meeting to be held in Spain.
The gathering will take place in the surroundings of a town called San José, from the province of Almería, in Andalucía, at the very South of Spain. I would have wished that the gathering would had been set up to take place in a Northern area of the country so riders don't have to make their trip so long, but after many many discussions and places visited and checked, this is what we have found as our best option to give you all the best chance of nice visit to Spain.
The choosen date will be the first weekend of July 2008, this is 4, 5 and 6 of July. There is also a reason to do the gathering that early and that's to avoid the really high temperatures of mid July. Even that way, we will find temperatures there around 40 Celsisus Degrees (104 Fahrenheit).
The meeting will take please so close from the beach that you will feel the Mediterranean smell and breeze inside your tent or bungalow.
Also, there are plenty of hotels in the area, as this a very touristic place and foreigners will feel really comfortable with friendly English speaking people in hotels, restaurants and all kinds of resorts.
A complete list of hotels will soon be given to all Venture Clubs and Presidents along with the best routes to be taken from everywhere coming from the North or East of Spain (Mediterranean Coast), so pelple can arrange their own holidays before or after the meeting.
The program and prices are almost set up already and the Almería Team (the president of the Spanish Venture Club is one of the guys) will soon provide tons of information that I will make public in all forums and Venture places.
A special part of our web site will also be reserved and dedicated to put there all the information. A new Spanish Venture Forum is being built these days and a special part of it will be destinated in English to drive all the information regarding this meeting and open for everytbody to read and write.
We are doing our best. This is the first event this big we arrange and we do not have any previous experience, so please let me say sorry before anything if we don't make things as you all expect. Remember that the Spanish Venture Club does not own any money so we can't afford doing payments in front to campings or resorts.
With all this said, I hope things can be sorted out as best as possible. I myself will be the contact and person in charge for all informations, questions and advices between the Spanish Venture Club BOARD of Directors and all of you.
Thank you for attention.
Best regards from Spain.
Nacho Altés.
